The timer cannot be used all year. Some people set the timer when they are away from home for long periods or during the holiday season when the home is furnished with lights outdoor. Another switch on the timer is an on / off button to turn it off when it’s not in use. When the timer is turned on again, it uses its current settings to turn the lights on and off.

Buttons, switches and gadgets on a timer can be confusing. Factors such as summer and seasonal changes may require resetting the timer to the original factory settings. Some models have a “manual reset” button for this. When the reset button is pressed on a manual timer, all settings go back to its original position so that you can completely customize the timer again.
